SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA
Valuable execution wooden '800esca, simple but effective in its iconography: the Saint of miracles is depicted holding up the baby Jesus in her arms while her right hand the lily ostende, symbol of his purity of life and the unconditional obedience to the vow of chastity. Smiling and benevolent expression, almost childish, Anthony wearing the habit of the Friars Minor, although a repainting sham (and clumsy!) has transformed the color from brown has become inexplicably black. Other repainting are also visible on the face, on the hands and the Child, touched mainly on the body.
